Location : Rakuzen , Plaza Damas
Made a date with my Uncle J. Supposed to bring my cousins out for nice dinner, so Uncle J can have some quality time with his kids....and Uncle J (unlike my parent) loves japanese food. Since I raved about how good Rakuzen is all the time, I offer to buy him and my cousins dinner there.
As usual, I ordered this scallop thingy, that was served on its shell. Super Yummy.
But the sad thing is, they are short of avocado that night and I can't order my fav dragon roll. Instead, I've ordered a Stamina Roll, which was topped with big fat UNAGI on top, with tiny weenie bits of avocado inside the handroll.
We ordered two set of the marinated beef (it sounds like something "niku"), to be cooked on a hotplate. Don't remembered what its called. Need to check the receipt ..that is if I still have it with me.
An Unagi Kabayaki, a plate of salmon belly sashimi, soft shell crab, fried rice (seafood and garlic), green tea ice cream, black sesame ice cream, wafer ice cream , strawberry ice...etc....
Hence, the result from all these gluttony....I think I sorta gain an immediate 1 kg (i hope its imaginary..but I do feel much heavier...)

Dinner@ Jalan Alor
Huay Yin had this immense cravings for chicken wings at Jalan Alor (known as Ah Wah Chicken Wings). So Kaggom, Jia Hao, me and HY braved the rain and traffic ...drove to the ever busy Jalan Alor for dinner. Had buttered calamari, vege, omelette, fish and of course CHICKEN WINGS.
i went home with a bulging tummy...yeah...its really obvious. No matter how much I sucked in...it stick out ...much to my embarassment. Tried doing some sit up in the hope that I'll wake up with a flatter stomache.... (just so you know, it didn't work).

Lunch @ Kampachi, Pavillion
One of the lawyers that we worked with a lot, decided to buy the whole of my CF team lunch and suggested that we go to Kampachi, since its near our office. A bit paiseh...since I've never worked with them personally before but got invited anyway coz I'm part of the team (hehe...privilege of a merchant banker).
I ordered a bento set that comes with a mini Una Jyu (Unagi + rice) , cold soba with soft shell crab plus the normal accompanion of fruits and miso soup [RM32]. There's a Inari something , which is actually assorted sashimi handroll, to be shared by the 8 of us. Each of us ordered a chawan mushi, which is really lovely. Honestly, I've never had such soft and silky steamed egg before...I thought Rakuzen's was pretty good , but Kampachi took the No.1 spot at the moment.
[the lawyer says Sugimoto serves pretty good chawan mushi too...so that's my next target]
We ended the lunch with half a dorayaki each (i.e pancake sandwich with red bean fillings...the pancake have a hint of banana flavour...).
After the lunch, I had this problem of staying awake.
BTW, KAMPACHI IS HAVING AN PROMOTION FOR DELIVERY SERVICE AROUND THE CITY CENTER AREA. ITS DELIVERING FREE AT THE MOMENT FOR THE WHOLE OF APRIL 2008. Normal delivery charged is RM30, so its pretty good deal make use of this promotion if you happens to have a craving for Jap food.

Dinner@ Bangkok Jazz
Because we went to Jalan Alor, we had to "ditch" our muslim colleague, Din on Tuesday night. So we promised that we'll have dinner with poor Din tonight. We wanted to try Baan26 at Changkat Bukit Bintang but to our disappointment, it was closed (we hope its not shut down...coz its closed for 2 days in a row...but we think its because of the Songkran festival la....fingers crossed).
So, we popped over at Chulan Square and head to Bangkok Jazz instead. First time for all of us (Huay Yin , Jia Hao, Din and myself). Very good service and super friendly staff. We had seafood tomyam that comes with really fresh prawns. We've also ordered some very tasty pandan chicken, a plate of sizzling tofu, green curry chicken (not as nice as My Elephant's)
Me, as usual, will always claim that there's still "space" for dessert. Couldn't help it but ordered a bowl of red ruby. Shared it with Huay Yin and Din. As punishment, besides feeling myself expanding sideways, I have to listen to HY complain about her own "fatness"....she's prolly half my size and she's complaining....but this kind of thing, its never too early to be paranoid la...good for you Huay Yin. You guys should pop over her blog and witness some of her ramblings about her "fatness"
this time, i didn't even bothered with sit up...thought I'll target to go to gym early in the morning...and as always, I ended up snoozing until there's only time for a quick shower and head to work.

Lunch@ Ichiban Boshi at Pavilion
Gavin, my colleague just got back from a week long vacation in Bangkok. He's one of the epicurean in the CF Dept....one funny chap who loves his food. Well, I suppose he must have cravings for his doses of Jap food....so we ended up having lunch at Ichiban Boshi ("IB").
First thing first, I don't think its fair to compare IB with Kampachi since they are in different league all together. I ordered a Una Jyu (yeah...i developed a liking for Unagi since my taipei trip, where some of our taipei friend brought us to this obscure Jap restaurant in the backlane that sells really yummy Una Jyu). I also have a platter of sashimi to be shared with Huay Yin.
Not a fan of sashimi, but I'm a real sucker for butter fish....loves the flavour !
Yeah..so its another meal of Jap food..... its really of so-so standard. Much better than the likes of Genki Sushi and Sushi King...but way far from the standard of Rakuzen/Kampachi
By Friday, I feel the "UGH...".....Any mention of the word "Jap food"....i'll feel this surge of indigestion coming....

Lunch@ Yok Yat Bakuteh, Jalan Imbi
Friday in my department is PORKY day..coz all our muslim colleague will be going for prayers and we can have all the pork we want without offending anyone (not that they'll be offended, they are pretty open and understanding).
Gavin suggested Bakuteh at Imbi. I thought its at SunHeong, but then....he says its somewhere else....so being the pig that I am....I quickly agreed to BKt.
Its located diagonally opposite Imbi Palace , same row with Yu Jia Seafood restaurant la.
The soup base is nothing to shout about, but they give really nice juicy pork ribs and tender pork err...i think its the thigh lar....and generous servings of mushrooms (black, button and golden).
All in all, i think i FEEL like I've gained 10kg, but its just 2 kg la. It'll prolly take me 2 months to lose 2 kg, that is if I don't eat rice, workout at least (bare minimum and realistically) twice a week .....
I"M DOOMED!!!!! FAT CRISIS!!!!! HELP!!!!
- mh is too shy to snap photos since I've just join the bank. A bit paiseh to snap photos....and there will be in no circumstances that i'll snap photo during a business lunch, where the other party is paying....not nice lar!-
