I didn't know...

When I joined PwC, I thought I'm in there to gain experience in Audit. But along the way, I've gain more than I've bargained for. Somewhere in my blog, I believed I must have whined and complained countless time how my work in PWC ate up my personal life. Truth is, I've build my personal life around people I've met and work with in the firm! Its unavoidable...... I spend more time in office/at client's with these people more than I spend time at home.

The thing is....regardless whether you are an associate, a senior, a manager and even a director...we always have this thing, just like PwC's motto, Connected Thinking....

Ranking plays a small role when it come to audit (I'm speaking on CIPS 1 specifically, not fair to comment on others since I never worked outside CIPS), usually, we will work "with" our managers/directors. I hardly feel as if I was working "for" them.

Anyway, the purpose of this blog entry.....is just to show that how blessed I am, to be able to build so many friendships throughout my 2 years plus in the firm.

In the recent weeks, I managed to find time to attend a few of the Inter-Departmental Games.

Mainly to support Teh Ais, who's somehow participated in almost all games....sigh! Its such a chore to drive around and to watch these games.....especially, I'm not a sports person....dunno much about most sports except for Badminton and Netball (and swimming, if that counts....Oh, and I like watching figure skating).

Basketball Game @ Bukit Kiara Equesterian Club

Managed to drag Ai Ling to come along. Sad thing is, I didn't take any photos.
Teh Ais played for less than 5 mins throughout the 3 sets of Game that I've watched.
Its kinda sad....that CIPS lost each game......but I think they were great, coz they have the spirit to march on, even though its a losing battle!! Bravo peeps!!! There's always the next IDG game

Bowling @ Pyramid Bowl, Sunway Pyramid.

I was damn tired - ever since Tuesday. But a promise is a promise la. Driving from Jalan Raja Chulan to Sunway Pyramid seems like a horror, but it wasn't that bad. Took me less than 40 mins to reached!

Manage to catch dinner with the Sunway Team at the familiar corner Mamak.....

Teh Ais did quite well at bowling, though I have to say, the style (or what Malaysian called "gaya") was not there la. Hehehehe........Nevertheless.....he's was good! I'm sure if Elaine was around, she will insist that her "Shane" is the most "gaya" one la....*shivers*.

Blazing Blacks (the name for CIPS) are doing really well, but they are no match for those IAFG (Inter Accounting Firm Games) reps. But it was a good battle......very close game, with Blazing Black lagging by a mere 20++ points.

A snapshot of Teh Ais aka JJ's score.....not bad la, he's No. 4 and top 3 are all IAFG players....he's making it there. Have to give him credit, since he hardly practice .....I'm sure he could have done better if he practiced more!!

[Teh Ais = Shane Tan=Fourth Placing]

But sad to say, due to Teh Ais' lack of gaya, my fellow cheerleading squad - Huay Yin and Caroline sorta side tracked their attention ...to the neighbouring lane. LOL - National Youth bowlers.....WOW!~! Have to say, they've got style la....damn cool!

Speaking of cheering....hehehe....we had so much fun doing our "thingy" whenever Teh Ais scored a "strike"! Teh Ais will run back to us, do a double high 5 with Carol and Huay Yin, and the cheer will end with a slap on his ass by YOURS truly....LOL!! ITs so ridiculous.....but heck care, it was damn FUN. And with Shanice on board....we do a co-ordinated cheer that goes with "JJ" followed by "Strike" while waving a printed A4 "X" to represent a "strike".

-MH suffered from serious fatigue....due to too much clapping and cheering-

3) Saturday, 14 June 2008 -FRIM, Selayang.

Last minute call from Teh Ais on Friday night. He's playing table tennis in the morning at freaking 9am!! Sigh....told him that I'll come if I can make it...had family plans since last week dy.

Anyway, managed to reach FRIM in good time, at around 10.30am la. Ended up he didn't play table tennis anyway.

It was fun nevertheless. Get to meet those new associates who've joined Sunway Team since I've left the firm. Very pretty....hehee....

IN between time, we went and watch Tug of War...where my Garfield Senior Manager, Mr. Azlan Ash'ari plays the role of the "anchor" due to his "ahem" heavy weight status..LOL!!

In need of mention is our Mr. Macho....Nicholas Ling. Gosh....he's damn "gaya"!!! [Ok, I'm bias la, since I'm the Vice President of his Fans Club....] Nic played 2 rounds of football, played tug of war and then played a set of badminton double!!!! Sigh...reluctant as I am, I had to admit...he's damn good at sports!! Did I mention that he can sing too??? You should see when he sing "Apologise" ....sigh.....damn good!

Here's a Group Photo of the Blazing Black - Badminton Team :

Badminton:
The main reason for me to go to FRIM this Saturday is to watch Teh Ais play badminton. Coz I think it will be funny to watch him play...he don't look like he can play la!! LOL.........

Sigh, but I've got a good surprise...that he can actually play. IF only he had practiced more, I think he might have won one of the match. He even manage to score when playing against 2 of the veteran players from Purple Power (Advisory Team), which really not bad!!

I stole a moment or two to play badminton too.....which is quite fun. Something I had not played for quite a while. Since I'm skipping gym these weekend, I supposed a light game of badminton will do me good....and now, I'm aching all over, especially my right arm, which feels like its not mine at all....

Conclusion :
All in all......I think I really had a great time!! Can't believe that I actually missed all these while I'm in the firm....but then again, I wasn't really given the chance to do all these when I'm in the firm......

-MH is still recuperating from fatigue...hence, do forgive me for the "disconnected" blog entry....-
