Poem? Yeats?
Aside from Jane Austen, and the odd Bronte sisters' work...I don't really do much literature. My memories of literature is ol' Mr James flipping through our literature text book in high school....and it was so "stupifying" that it sort of stuck in my brain ...the exact words for this poem called "The VIllage" ..which sort of start with " The Village, peace and quite.....bla bla bla"
But if I've realised and been exposed to beautiful poems from Yeats...I might be a sucker for poems :
To a Child Dancing in the Wind, by W. B. Yeats: "TO A CHILD DANCING IN THE WIND
by: W. B. Yeats (1865-1939)
ANCE there upon the shore;
What need have you to care
For wind or water's roar?
And tumble out your hair
That the salt drops have wet;
Being young you have not known
The fool's triumph, nor yet
Love lost as soon as won,
Nor the best labourer dead
And all the sheaves to bind.
What need have you to dread
The monstrous crying of wind?
'To a Child Dancing in the Wind' is reprinted from Responsibilities. W.B. Yeats. New York: Macmillan, 1916."

Away from home : I've been bad...
For a foodie, I think I've really "sinned". Had totally no respect for food the past weeks....
I guess living alone and cooking for 1 person had taken a toll. The novelty of being the queen of my own kitchen had finally rub off....and without my "kakak" that do all the cleaning and tidying after cooking, I'm quite put off to cook.
For breakfast, I'll buy a bag of 4 croissants from the market, and chuck it into the oven for about 5 mins. Drizzle it with choc sauce....but I'm just too lazy to toast some almond flakes,...plus a squirt of whipped cream would have been perfect, but choc sauce from the bottle is the easiest.
Lunch is usually bought....sandwich, and recently discovered Penang Hawker along Rundle Mall..so had quite a bit of nasi lemak, char kuay teow, sar hor fun......
And dinner? If I cooked, it'll be either fried rice, fried noodle.....and that's about it. I did manage to avoid instant noodle quite well though....coz they are never in the "real food" category. Otherwise, I'll just do take away from the Thai Restaurant down the road (their fried rice is very good...I like it a lot), ala carte dishes at Kopitim down at Gouger St, recently discovered pretty decent claypot rice at Vietnamese Star City Restaurant down at Gouger St....And with take away, eating them are really "clinical" ....i just open them and start to gobble them and get it done.
What happened to having proper meal, where me and my family will have decent conversation, updating each other on their days. THat's a real meal!!!
Ugh..
I just don't see the logic of cooking for 1 person. I still clean equal amount no. of pots and pans.......maybe lesser in terms of plates..., and i still need to mopped the goddamned floor....regardless if I cook for 1 or 5
Sigh....comes the day, when I'm contented with cooking and eating from the pot....I'm really doomed!!! Coz that's the day, I've give up enjoying food....coz I'm eating not to enjoy food, I'm eating coz I'm hungry and that's it...just because I'm hungry!!! That'll be really really sad.........
~MH is sorry that she left the quarter of cabbage to rot in the fridge, chicken mince remain frozen in the freezer, and half of avocado turning brown, and I dunno....I'm just sorry that neglected the food and let it go to waste....MH is really bad!~
